Report:

The Webinar was held on 28th August, 2020 in the benign presence of the dignitaries including Prof. Subrata Mukhopadhyay, Chairperson, CNA Group and Former Chairperson, IEEE Delhi Section. Prof. R. K. Vyas, National President, CSI welcomed all the invited guests and participants. Prof. M. N. Hoda, Director, Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of Computer Applications and Management (BVICAM), New Delhi also addressed the session and discussed the background note of conducting such Webinars through virtual platforms. He emphasized that these webinars act as networking tools to connect people from across the world and help them to adapt to a New Normal life, a new ecosystem caused by COVID-19. He also discussed the five phases of COVID-19 i.e. Denial, Anger, Bargain, Depression and Acceptance and motivated the participants to directly move to Acceptance phase from Bargain phase without going into Depression phase, which is also one of the objectives of these weekly webinar series. He also motivated participants to keep learning continuously regardless of all disruptions. He also discussed the background of the Edge computing, the topic of the webinar. The webinar was blessed to have inaugural address by Prof. Subrata Mukhopadhyay giving a brief background of the all these webinars, in collaboration will all the premiere professional societies.

Dr. Gagandeep Singh, Publisher (Engineering), CRC Press, Taylor & Francis Group, was the lead speaker. He first introduced the topic to the participants. He discussed that writing technical books is a very challenging but satisfying job. All the reputed and global publishers are encouraging the authors to come forward for writing technical books in the potential subject areas.  He also explained the detailed processes of writing technical books with the standard global publishers, the steps involved, important things to be taken care like objectives of writing book, review process, royalty issues, detailed process workflow including special section on how to take copyright permissions, etc.

The session concluded with Question & Answer round where participants willingly asked their queries, followed by concluding remarks by Prof. Ajay P. Thakare, Chairman, TPPC, IETE, New Delhi. Prof. M. N. Hoda gave his heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Gagandeep Singh for his valuable and detailed session. He also thanked all the participants and panellist for giving their precious time in attending this webinar and making all the webinars hosted by BVICAM, a huge success. The webinar attracted huge participation from across the world.
