Bharati Vidyapeeth Institute’s of Computer Applications and Management, New Delhi organized a Technical Talk on “Cyber Security – Future Roadmap” on 11th March 2019, in association with IEEE – Consultants Network Affinity Group, IEEE Delhi Section and CSI (Computer Society of India) Delhi Chapter. The honorable speaker of the talk was Dr. Ali Ghorbani - Director, Canadian Institute of Cyber Security, University of New Brunswick, Canada.

The event begun with the floral welcome of Dr. Ali Ghorbani. The main objective of the invited talk was to sensitize the audience with different aspects of Cyber Security along with research programs offered to research aspirants by University of New Brunswick. In his enlightening session, Dr. Ali introduced the audience with the main source of threats – human errors, of course! There are too many threats and too few defenders when we talk about cyber security. And human errors are the main source that creates loop holes for intruders to get into the system. Phishing is one of the crime which affects almost 95% of enterprise networking. Dr. Ali discussed about various research areas and research interests in the domain of IDS, Dark Web detection, System Security, Actionable Intelligence, Fake News detection etc. There are various research scenarios on which research is going on such as Mobile security, IoT security, Software protection, Device profiling, user profiling through social networks etc. He also threw light on various under-graduate and post-graduate programs offered by UNB to become professional in the Cyber security field.

At the end of the session Prof. M. N. Hoda, Director, BVICAM presented a token of gratitude to Dr. Ali. The session was attended by CSI members, BVICAM faculty and students. Also present were Mr. V. K. Gupta, Chairman, CSI Delhi Chapter. Audience enthusiastically participated in the session.  Dr. Vishal Jain, Associate Professor, BVICAM coordinated the entire session.
